With Halloween just around the corner (yay!!), I figured it was time to bring back this rad campaign from Ohio University.

There are endless cute, sexy, funny, even offensive costumes that don’t perpetuate racist stereotypes. There is really no excuse.

See, this is the shit that bothers me on tumblr…

I have quite a bit of native american on both sides of my family, however, due to my “irish genetics” , I have pale skin and light eyes. 

So according to this poster, if I were to dress in traditional, or stereotypical clothing, it’s not okay, because I’m “white”…

So if I was tan, and looked like that part of my ethnic background, it’s okay?

I think halloween costumes are just a fun, silly way to enjoy the holiday.

Do people seriously get offended by this?

Maybe it’s just the fact that I don’t generally let shit get to me..

Dude. Stop. There’s a huge difference between wearing traditional cultural clothing and the shit that’s being portrayed above. It has nothing to do with your skin color.

Sincerely, a pale-ass ndn who’s sick of people saying “SOME NATIVES ARE LIGHT SKINNED U KNO!!!” like it’s some huge frickin’ revelation I’ve never considered.
